The weed boom is now in position at Northlands Bridge on the Trader, and will hopefully have some impact. Many thanks to the members who assisted on the day, particularly John Middleton who spent most of his time up to his waist in the water. Please check out our Facebook page for some photos. The boom has been provided by the Environment Agency free of charge but we may need to maintain it ourselves, so anyone who can periodically remove the collected weed and debris are most welcome to do so. The boom is staked at an angle so that debris should be forced into the corners dependant on which way the drift is. There is access down the bank at both ends.
