Pilgrim Lake

Situated in Wyberton just south of town off the A16, Pilgrim Lake is the long term project of the Association to provide an alternative to the local drains, rivers, and commercial fisheries, and to also ensure all year round fishing for its members.

Finally purchased in 2016 work has commenced on a daily basis with several working parties being organised also. BDAA members are working tirelessly to try and get the lake safe and suitable for fishing as soon as possible.

Their infectious enthusiasm for the project is certainly having an effect on others as numbers at the working parties is increasing. Various grants have been applied for and some have already been successful. During the winter the majority of the marginal reeds were dug out using mechanical digger which has opened up the lake immensely. Five new peg stagings have been constructed already with more planned and a footpath is currently being laid to give access to these pegs first.

The car park has been extended and vehicular access has also been improved. The first stage of stocking fish into the lake is due to commence very soon.
